Grades 7 & 8 Science
Courses’ Overview
Similar to Maths, students are moving towards more abstract concepts and understandings. One way that we encourage our students – at this stage – to grow in self-paced learning is by promoting their curiosity. Every child has a sense of curiosity, and this is a great learning opportunity. Grades 7 & 8 Science focuses on hands-on and inquiry-based learning as opposed to rote memorisation.
Courses’ Goal
In Grades 7 & 8, the syllabus pushes students to be autonomous learners. What this means is that they can read through concepts, and at their own pace, come to conclusions. At this stage, the topics are intuitive and naturally flowing from one to another. This makes self-learning easier because the progression to each concept is a natural one. For example, students who are working on the water cycle will naturally, at their pace, progress to topics on natural resources.
ConnectEd’s Approach
Taking Grades 7 & 8 Science tuitions at ConnectEd will push students to think more critically about each concept. Our teachers are experts in their scientific fields, and they are teaching our students to be “observers” of their environment. This approach to creative promotion intuitively enables students to be autonomous learners. For example, the world around us is ready for exploration. If students begin to see the world like this, everything around them helps promote curiosity and self-based learning. When they eat food, they will begin to wonder where the food comes from. Our team of teachers creates the bridge between the world around us and learning in the classroom.
